3D Challenge #008 - Time machine

Note: Please read the guidelines for participating in the challenge. The purpose of the challenge is to have fun and bring SketchUp users together and help each other learn and get better at using our favorite 3d modeling program. We will remove comments that are objectionable or offensive.

This week's challenge:

Time machine

This weeks challenge will be highly creative as we are going to make a "time machine" to travel in time. The hard part is that there are not really much examples you can recreate or use as an example. Imagination is the keyword this challenge. How would your time machine look like and how would it be used? Will it be something
like a small watch, a fixed device which is room filling or a car like in the "back to the future" movies. You can make your design in any style you can think of. It could be a highly futuristic design, Leonardo Da Vinci style or even Looney Tunes style.

Good luck!

Note: Please read the guidelines for participating in the challenge. The purpose of the challenge is to have fun and bring SketchUp users together and help each other learn and get better at using our favorite 3d modeling program. We will remove comments that are objectionable or offensive.

This week's challenge:

Fountain pen

One of the first fountain pens with a reservoir was created in Egypt around 953. It took until the 18th century before the fountain pen got developed more and more. From about 1850 many new patents were requested and mass-production started in 1880. Currently the fountain pen has reached a more exclusive or historic status, as it is passed by ballpoints and computer technology. This weeks challenge is to create an existing or imaginary fountain pen. As usual you're free to choose whatever kind of fountain pen you prefer, like fountain pens for sketching, a cheap mass-production fountain pen or a highly exclusive fountain pen for example. Well known brands for inspiration are: Waterman, Montblanc, Parker, Pelikan, Rotring, Sheaffer and many others.

Jump in and start modeling!

This week's challenge:

Ancient temple

In the history of mankind, people created various types of buildings to worship their gods. These temples often still exists today and represent the architectural style of the nation who build it. For some nations it's a residence for their holy people, for other nations a place to sacrifice. Famous temples still existing today are, for example, the Arcopolis of Athene, Abu Simbel in Egypt, Tikal in Guatemala and many others. The challenge this week is to create such a temple to worship a god. You are allowed to recreate an existing temple or design your own. Depending on the complexity of the temple you are free to design the outside as well as the inside.

Good luck!
