Game character

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

A game character refers to a character in a game, especially a video game or role-playing game.
More specifically, it may refer to:
  • Player character, a character in a video game or role playing game who is controlled or controllable by a player, typically a protagonist the game's plot.
    • Alternate character, a controllable character in addition to one's "primary" player character.
  • Non-player character, or NPC, a character that is controlled by the gamemaster in tabletop role-playing games. In video games and other scenarios with character representations, an NPC is controlled by a program.
    • Boss (video gaming), a computer-controlled opponent in an enemy-based challenge, which is found in video games.
    • Mob (video gaming), a computer-controlled non-player character (NPC) or monster in a computer game such as a role-playing video game.
In this challenge you are to create an all new video game character to fit in the video game genre of your choice. The trick is to make it obvious that it is intended to be in a video game; how you do this is entirely up to you.

Standard Participation Rules apply. Thanks to samothrace41 for the challenge suggestion.

SketchUp 3D Challenge #188 - Hotel Room

Thursday, 19 September 2013 - Monday, 30 September 2013

Hotel rooms are a necessity to many people when they travel. They can be a place to relax after a long day or in some cases they will make you wish you never left home. Hotel amenities vary greatly from place to place from just a bed, a table, a phone, a TV and an ensuite to multiple rooms with full kitchens and all the comforts of home. They can be as small as a pod in a capsule hotel or as big as a multi-floor penthouse suite.

In this challenge you are free to design and model any type of hotel or motel room you like. Just be sure to stay away from the mini-bar as you model; they can be pretty pricy.

Standard Participation Rules apply. Thanks to cathy.tritschler for the challenge suggestion.

Recreational fishing
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Recreational fishing, also called sport fishing, is fishing for pleasure or competition. It can be contrasted with commercial fishing, which is fishing for profit, or subsistence fishing, which is fishing for survival.
The most common form of recreational fishing is done with a rod, reel, line, hooks and any one of a wide range of baits. Other devices, commonly referred to as terminal tackle, are also used to affect or complement the presentation of the bait to the targeted fish. Some examples of terminal tackle include weights, floats, and swivels. Lures are frequently used in place of bait. Some hobbyists make handmade tackle themselves, including plastic lures and artificial flies. The practice of catching or attempting to catch fish with a hook is known as angling.
In this challenge you are to model a recreational fishing boat stocked with all the fishing gear one would need for a recreational fishing trip. This would include the rods, reels, lures, and every kind of tackle you would expect to see in addition to the boat, the safety equipment and storage for the fish caught.

Standard Participation Rules apply. Thanks to Samothrace41 for the suggestion of 'fishing rod' that inspired this challenge.
