SketchUp 3D Challenge #215: Gliders

Monday, 20 July 2015 - Thursday, 30 July 2015

In this summer themed challenge, you have a choice! You can either model a Hang Glider or Sailplane Glider. As the old knight in Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade said, choose wisely!

Either way you go, your glider must be a fixed wing aircraft and have no means of self-propulsion. A hang glider is not the same as a paraglider so don't get any ideas.

Standard Participation Rules apply. Thanks to Argo Industries for inspiring the topic of the challenge by suggesting "something that's mobile".

Rule Change: Participants in challenges are now required to vote when the challenge is over. This is to encourage the community aspect of the challenge by giving the other participants feedback on their work.

SketchUp 3D Challenge #214: Lighthouse II

Monday, 6 July 2015 - Thursday, 16 July 2015

Lighthouses are navigational aids for seagoing vessels that are used to mark dangerous coastlines and safe entries for harbors. Modern advancements like GPS have replaced the need for the lighthouse and most have been decommissioned. Of those remaining in use, the majority of them are now fully automated and have eliminated the need for a lighthouse keeper.

In this challenge, you are to model a manned lighthouse so you must also include living quarters for a lighthouse keeper.

Rule Change: Participants in challenges are now required to vote when the challenge is over. This is to encourage the community aspect of the challenge by giving the other participants feedback on their work.

Standard Participation Rules apply. Thanks to Michael Baudet for suggested the topic for the challenge.
