Ancient temple
In the history of mankind, people created various types of buildings to worship their gods. These temples often still exists today and represent the architectural style of the nation who build it. For some nations it's a residence for their holy people, for other nations a place to sacrifice. Famous temples still existing today are, for example, the Arcopolis of Athene, Abu Simbel in Egypt, Tikal in Guatemala and many others. The challenge this week is to create such a temple to worship a god. You are allowed to recreate an existing temple or design your own. Depending on the complexity of the temple you are free to design the outside as well as the inside.

it may be a little too low poly for realism.
I've started modeling for this too. I agree with Tom's sentiment; there is so much possibility for intricate detail on a grand scale! I'm looking forward to people's submissions! I have this strange feeling like this could be hard to judge a winner.

Tom, I owned a K35 for 18 years. I flew all over the USA and some in Canada and Mexico. Thanks for bringing back so many fond memories. Andrew, I'm with you on the current challenge leading to complex models. I started to think in stone and my first stone was huge. I'll start again.

ReplyDeleteAA (from now on, the short name I'll use for you. Lol!), thanks a lot, man! I can hardly wait to see it finished too, if I ever! I love using SU, but the addiction takes it's toll. I never planned to make such a complex model. Drawing it is making me look old beyond my age already.

ReplyDeleteYou are so right with the SketchUp addiction thing... it's chronic!
I've found the best way to model though... listen to trance/electronic music. It pumps you up and allows you to model faster!!!
Anyways, back to modeling...
