  12. Andrew, LOVE the board! Very detailed design. But the links to your pictures need a password for the Shaw FTP server. So I am unable to view them.

Eric, I really like how you set up your renders. It adds a certain look to it. I can't really describe it, but I like it!

  14. Hey guys. I don't know if you guys know me from the 3D warehouse or not. I have been putting off the 3D challenge for forever and with the new blog and year, I think its time I gave it a try.

    Wish me luck (=
P.S. The last time I tryed a 3D challenge it was the soccer trophy and I didn't realize that the challnge was over so I modeled for hours. Oh well... I liked the result anyway. Over and out,

  18. I don't think I'll get to finish this, but here is the WIP so far for a pirate variation. I tried to make it generic, so as not to associate it with any recent movies, but something fun to try and make into chess pieces.

  20. Wow the pirate chess set really looks good. You really smashed that theme on the head nicely! That was a great job and I can't wait to see what it will look like when it's done.

  23. Hello all,

I didn't have much time for this challenge, but i wouldn't want to miss the first one of a new serie of challenges.

I created a chess board which is suitable for three players. These (and for more players) boards really exist, so I didn't made it up. Nice models so far everybody...

  29. Hey.... Since I'm relatively new to the 3D challenge, do you win anything if you win the challenge. I heard something about sketchup socks? Unfortunately I haven't heard about the prize yet. Is there a prize like there used to be? Please someone help me!!!

    ReplyDelete
  30. Hello Elijah

You need to go to the warehouse and add "3d challenge 001" ( no quotes) to the tags section so we can find it for judging. If any confusion, take a look at another model from the challenge to see the tag.

    Thanks

  35. Hey guys. I don't know if you guys can see my posts or not, but I would appreciate it greatly if someone could help me. Please look at my previous posts guys and answer them if you feel compelled to do so. Thanks a million, and if this message doesn't get across, good luck to all in the competition.

  36. Olay-
I can see your posts but unfortunately I have no more answers than you do. If you want a response, try posting on the next 3d challenge's post. I did that and I got a response. Hopefully the voting comes soon.

  37. Hello all,

Here is finally the list with submissions to vote for this challenge (#001). Please view and judge all models before voting for the one you think is the best. Remember to turn off the textures before judging. It's all about the quality of the model, not a fancy color.

  39. Again some problems with the poll. I can enter all 7 submission to vote for but the poll shows only 5. When I've fixed this the poll should appear underneath the subject poll.

    Please be patient...

  40. Awesome! Poll is good! Thanks!

  41. I think you should explain why you vote for whichever model you vote for, or at least give constructive feedback on each of the models you review, either here or give the model a rating and description.

    ReplyDelete
  42. Just tried to vote right now, poll not working, will try again later. @ Elijah-I think its a great idea, i'll start right here:
Voting for 3 player chess set because of sheer creativity and the uniformity yet variety of the pieces.

  43. I really like 3 player chess set also, but the guys didn't create the 3 player chess et. You can buy em' on ebay. I still think he did a good job making it.

  45. Hi,
I see. Okay. The polls still arent working, at 12:36 pm Indian Standard Time, so about 3:06 am EST. They come on intermittently but when you actually try to vote on either one of them, they say "Oops, Polls currently not available. Please try again later". Is anyone else having this problem, or is it just me?
    --rbedi100

  46. Hello rbedi100,

I'm also experiencing some problems with the polls. These problems are probably caused by Blogger itself and therefore out of our hands. The only thing you/we can do at the moment is to keep trying and hoping that the problems will be solved fast.

  47. Ok. Well, the vote which I entered in around 2:30 pm IST yesterday has apparently been registered, unless it is someone else's vote that is being shown. I have a blog hosted by blogger and the poll on that seems to be working without any problems so I don't think that it is a uniform Blogger issue. Thanks,
    rbedi100
