3D Challenge #017 - Bridge
Note: Please read the guidelines for participating in the challenge. The purpose of the challenge is to have fun and bring SketchUp users together and help each other learn and get better at using our favorite 3d modeling program. We will remove comments that are objectionable or offensive.
This week's challenge:
Bridge
This week we are going to model a bridge. Theoraticaly, a bridge is a built structure to span a physical obstacle like a gorge, valley, road, railroad track, river or body of water for example. In reality even a log fallen across a river could be considered to be a bridge. This challenge you are free to create your own obstacle to span. When choosing your bridge to model, also consider all the other types of bridges beside the most well known suspension bridge. All over the world there are many examples of beautiful bridges made from wood, stone or cast iron instead of steel and other present-day hightech materials. Those old bridges often have loads of interesting construction or decoration details which will really test your sketchup skills.
Good luck ALL!

The challenge this week will be to model this crucial piece of office equipment. There are lot's of models to choose from, like desk staplers, hand staplers, extra long staplers, electric staplers, staple free staplers, gadget staplers or maybe even an air powered construction stapler. This week's challenge:
Lighthouse
When man started to explore the seas, they where confronted with a few problems. During nighttime it was almost impossible to find the way back to land. When they did find land, there was no warning for dangerous areas in the sea. From that time they started to make fires on the coasts during the night. These fires made it possible to navigate home or warned for possible danger. During the centuries, these fires where replaced by alternative lightsources to the present day electrical lighthouses. This week, a lighthouse will be the 3D challenge. On this website you can download a pdf file with more information about the shapes, color patterns and lights from lighthouses.
Good luck ALL!

This week's challenge:
Mobile home / Caravan
This week our Sketchup challenge is to model an accomodation in a compressed space. This can be anything like a mobile home, a caravan or even a house in a shipping container. Other creative ideas are of course allowed as long as it's an accomodation in a compressed space. It doesn't nescesarily has to have wheels but it should be movable. You are free to create only the outside of your accomodation, or the inside as well. Remember that time is short so use it wisely. Start with the main shapes and add details later on.
Good luck ALL!
