  1. General Notes:
    There will no obligation for a blog entry anymore. It is still allowed to post a link to your model or additional images, but it is not required anymore to submit a model to the challenges. The 3D Warehouse tag is still required though and should be added when uploading a model to the Warehouse.

    You can use the hyperlink code creator on the frontpage of the blog to create the code for a hyperlink in your message. Copy this code and paste it in the comment box on the place where your want the hyperlink to be.

    Challenge suggestions are welcome to be placed on the blog. Items will be noted and compiled on the moderator’s list. At that point, the initial comment for the suggestion may be deleted so as to maintain a streamline challenge thread for use of posting entries for the challenge and comments to models. Challenge suggestions have always been welcomed and taken under consideration.

    Please refrain from using background images in your models as it is the model itself that is being judged.

    You'll notice a new link on the main page that directs you to the First Place Certificate area to which winners are able to print a certificate with a picture of their model detailing their excellence. You can access the page through the main page of the blog.

    I've to apologize to everyone but this week we had some problems.
    I've just posted new challenge (thanks to Jedicharles for the suggestion).
    This is a one week challenge and you can consider it a speed challenge, less time (5 days) but no limit to your model (except for general rules).

    About participation: It's normal that people come and go. Sometimes we could be 25 and then fall to 5.
    Voting system could be a problem and challenge subject could attract more people or let them go away.
    I'm not challenging too, 'cause I'm working on something else and have no time to do all I would.

    @Tinker Toy
    Usually new Challenge day is Thursday, but sometimes there could be some problem. :(

    @Benjamin
    We can always use 3D text, aren't we ?

    This week's challenge has a really interesting theme, thanks to Jedicharles again .

    PS : You've written down "3D Challenge #064" on top of the page instead of #065 .

  7. by 'freestyle' do you mean ANYTHING...????

  8. I've got a question : Is a rug considered as a texture or as a component ? I mean, if I already used a rug in a scene in the past, could I use the same rug for the challenge ?
    because I assume that it's not as a pre-made component . It's just a texture extruded or not . Because I always forgot which rugs I already used among all my rug's file, then I could do a mistake unknowingly ...

  9. I made this house for the freestyle challenge. I think freestyle is cool 'cause you can really model to your limits. This house is a 3 bedroom 2 bath home in the style of Mid- Century Modern. The Model is all my own creation even the furniture.MCM: Glass House

  12. I think you should have a Princess tower (you know, like Rapunzel was stuck in, tall with no door) contest, I was making one a while ago, it went to hell, but it is a good Idea, could probably get a lot of cool entries, also you could do a 3d advent calendar, for the season.

  13. I made another entry, a luxury panic room . To understand see the picassa's page Here .

  14. I think this open challenge is a very good idea and i think it should be a recurent challenge, lets say once a month, and just for a few days, this way, people that are not particularly attracted to the themes of the regular challenges can make anything they want the best they can and have their models judged.

    Model submitted should be fixed in a max of 3 , to avoid people from publishing hundreds.
    Concentate your time in a few of good models instead of loose it. :)

    I just want to say... I made my model "Glass House" and someone said I used preexisting models. Well let me make myself clear.... I use preexisting components by accident not purpose and really I model to the limits I set for myself so If there are any problems this should make it clear. In the model I made the Kitchen, The Furniture (e.g. chairs and beds) but the beds and the kitchen and bathrooms are used often but I don't think I used them. I really don't have time to make a new kitchen,bath,beds,lamps and stuff and I really don't have time somedays to model. I made this model on Dec. 6,08 and uploaded it then I found out that the challenge was free style so I made the switch so it could be in the challenge. I paid no attention to the components. So thank you. If anyone wants me to make another kitchen (4 hours of my time) Lights (7 hours) and new bathroom (3 hours) then Okay and those hours are estimates. and it did take me 4 hours to make that kitchen component.

    Please remove all pre-made components.
    They are not allowed in the challenge.

    @All
    Pre-made components are not allowed even if they were made made by yourself.
    All parts of the model submitted must be modelled during week's Challenge.

  24. I am not wasting my time fixing the problems. I did a model last year that had pre made models and there was no problem. Why kick me off, Because I am a good modeler. (Some)Cheaters keep winning the challenges. This used to be fun now it is not... Good Bye off to TurboCad I go. Good Day. :I

    I'm sorry you will leave but use of pre-made components it's not allowed as specified in the participation rules).
    If you used them in a past model and nothing happens it's just because we don't have the time to check every model, but it's not a good reason to keep going to use them.

    Cheating in the voting poll is an old story, related to Blogger limitations, and honestly I'm quite tired about it.
    As I'm used to remember to the modellers, everyone of you should participate to the challenge not to win but to improve their own skills. Winning in secondary to the satisfaction to do our best.
    There's no prize at the end.

    Anyway, good luck for your TurboCad experience.

    I fixed my model "MCM:Glass House" and for 4 hours I tried to make a bathtub and redo the Kitchen but to no avail. I did however make a lamp and that is about it. I hope you see through my valiant effort. I did try so you can't say I didn't. I am sorry for my actions and hope you will reconsider my model for the challenge. And for the record I have TurboCad but don't know how to use it.
