  2. OK people, a new challenge to model for, be creative. I couldn't wait and already made a planet explorer myself. Don't worry, I won't submit it to this challenge.

    Planet explorer

Note 1) Don't forget to add the proper tag to your model when uploading it to the warehouse. As the warehouse is case sensitive I would advise to just copy it.

Note 2) If you want to create a hyperlink on the blog to your model in the warehouse, here's the code to do it:

    [a href="warehouselink"]linkname[/a]

    * Replace the [ and ] by < and >

warehouselink = url from your model on the 3D warehouse
linkname = the hyperlink text that will appear on the blog

    Have fun all....

  4. Yay! I won the last challenge (chess set). Im somewhat new to the 3D challenge. I heard something about sketchup socks? It could just be a rumour. The greatest prize to me was just plain winning, so I would like to thank all those who voted for me

  5. When the challenges started a year ago the first prize was indeed a set of sketchup socks. Unfortunatly it proofed to be a very difficult task to get those socks to the winners as they're from all over the world. As the challenges became more community driven the socks totally disappeared. At the moment we can't give the winners more than a week of worldwide fame on the frontpage of the blog.

  8. This is mostly a sketch to explore the idea of a segmented rover, and play with the legs/ shock absorption. Not sure if it'll continue to evolve or not. Isn't that the fun of SketchUp, tons and tons of unfinished models?

  11. Well I got carried away on this one. I'm a SciFi nut. So my imagination went wild. I wrote a brief description of the vehicle and how it works. If you look at the description on the 3d Warehouse you can get an idea of what this thing will do. It's a recreation vehicle "Rover" of the future. I'm still pretty new with SketchUp so I'm always open for suggestions. It's a 1 mb file.

  12. Don East, your link doesn't work. I searched "recreation rover" and found it. Awsome! looks like it could crawl over a house without touching it.

  14. j-n@n the information on creating a hyperlink do I write that in this leave your comment column? I like to be able to do this but not sure. Is there a way I can send an e-mail or something to you? If you are willing you could then write a more detailed instruction for me to follow. At 66 I didn't learn this stuff as second nature to life. Does that comment make any sense?

  15. Hello don,

Yes, you have to put the code in the leave your comment box. It's not that hard if you know how it works. To create the link use the following steps. Replace the [ and ] by < and >.

    1) type [a href=" in the comment box
    2) then copy and paste the url from your model in the warehouse behind the quote sign
    3) type "] behind the url
    4) then type the text for the hyperlink that you want on the blog
    5) type [/a] behind the text
    6) that's it, you're finished, use the preview options to see if the link is created correctly and publish it.

    Good luck,

    J-m@n

  19. I just updated my model. Do I need to update the link again, or is it fine? Not much time for this one-rushed to finish up the model this morning! Thx,

  20. Hello all,

A few words from the admin team. Although there were very few submission this time we decided not to extend this challenge. We prefer to keep the challenge interval to one week as much as we can. Possibly the subject for this challenge was to "heavy" for a one week challenge. For a nice entry you will end up in lots of time consuming details quite fast. On the other hand, don't make a challenge to hard for yourself by going into details to fast. If you feel that a subject is to large for a week challenge then let us know. In that case we might extend the challenge, if there are enough people with time problems who want to participate.
