SketchUp 3D Challenge #250: Milestones

Challenge Period: Monday, 7 November 2016- Sunday, 20 November 2016

The SketchUp 3D Challenge has reached the milestone of 250 challenges and I, JediCharles, have reached another milestone of having administrated the SketchUp 3D Challenge for 5 years. So, in the spirit of milestones, this challenge is to literally model milestones!

For the purposes of this challenge, you are to model a milestone and a scene to display it in. See the article below for more information on milestones.
Milestone

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
A milestone is one of a series of numbered markers placed along a road or boundary at intervals of one mile or occasionally, parts of a mile. They are typically located at the side of the road or in a median. They are alternatively known as mile markers, mileposts or mile posts (sometimes abbreviated MPs). Mileage is the distance along the road from a fixed commencement point.

Industrial robot

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
An industrial robot is a robot system used for manufacturing. Industrial robots are automated, programmable and capable of movement on two or more axes.
Typical applications of robots include welding, painting, assembly, pick and place for printed circuit boards, packaging and labeling, palletizing, product inspection, and testing; all accomplished with high endurance, speed, and precision. They can help in material handling and provide interfaces.
For the purposes of this challenge you are to design and model a robot for any industrial purpose of your choice. But whatever you do, try not to short circuit because Newton Crosby and Ben Jabituya will not be there to rescue you.

SketchUp 3D Challenge #248: Transporter Bridge

Challenge Period: Monday, 10 October 2016 - Sunday, 23 October 2016

A transporter bridge is a rare type of bridge designed to move pedestrian and automotive traffic to the other side of a body of water in a very unique manner. It serves the function of a ferry over short distances using a platform hanging from a gantry suspended under a bridge like structure. They are designed to allow ships to pass below and as an alternative to a draw bridge or a much longer traditional bridge.
