3d challenge #087 - Sailboat

Lets test some serious organic modeling skills. This challenge is all about sailboats, you can make as detailed model as you like; use limited texture & work more on modeling 3d. your Sailboat can be luxury sail yacht, catamarans, classic sailboat, modern sailboat, racing sailboat or pirate sail vessel. Ideas

    General Notes: There will no obligation for a blog entry anymore. It is still allowed to post a link to your model or additional images, but it is not required anymore to submit a model to the challenges. The 3D Warehouse tag is still required though and should be added when uploading a model to the Warehouse.

    You can use the hyperlink code creator on the frontpage of the blog to create the code for a hyperlink in your message. Copy this code and paste it in the comment box on the place where your want the hyperlink to be.

    Challenge suggestions are welcome to be placed on the blog. Items will be noted and compiled on the moderator’s list. At that point, the initial comment for the suggestion may be deleted so as to maintain a streamline challenge thread for use of posting entries for the challenge and comments to models. Challenge suggestions have always been welcomed and taken under consideration.

    Please refrain from using background images in your models as it is the model itself that is being judged.

    You'll notice a new link on the main page that directs you to the First Place Certificate area to which winners are able to print a certificate with a picture of their model detailing their excellence. You can access the page through the main page of the blog.

    I think that space colony idea has already been done. Has it not? How about this idea -fish tank- ? The tank itself will not be difficult, but the fish and decor objects may be a challenge. It is a chance to get some practice on organic shapes.

    If you're running out of ideas for a next challenge I think it could be good to choose something into architecture. For example, high rise or supertall tower or something like doing the most outstanding building ever... Thank you.

    the space colony has sort of been done (way back in the day there was a 'space mining base' challenge it was 3dchallenge17 before the open challenges)

    but i think im pretty much the only person still here from back then and i'd still be up for doing it again. first time round it was like my 5th ever model so it was pretty rubbish :P

    I think that if we did the space colony that it would take too long to make everything in the colony. On the skyscraper idea, i did find a building that was over 11,000 feet high

    Watch the date they've been posted and you'll see they aren't into the challenge deadline at all :)
    I think people should thought to remove the challenge tag.
