View Entry Models | Status: Finished
In light of the 50th Anniversary of the Seattle Space Needle, Challenge #142 is to model an observation tower. While the Space Needle has its trademark saucer shape, observation towers come in all shapes and sizes and serve a variety of purposes. Many of them double as radio towers and include restaurants and sometimes high speed thrill rides.
Your job is to model either an existing structure or design one out of your own creation. Feel free to make them as tall as you want and let your imagination escape you. The more detail the better... Be sure to make some nice scenes to show off your work. The most important thing is that you feel challenged and have fun.
Standard Participation Rules apply.

Great entries!
ReplyDelete3 point: Hyperboloid Observation Tower from a.j.unknow. He has 3 podium chance models, but I want to give credits everyone, so it is his most atmospheric one.
2 point: Tower Blocks from HenkieTenk. Also my first attempt was "random" placed blocks, but it did not worked for me. Nice to see someone else did it.
1 point: Observation Tower from Ryksuga. Genial hamster tube.
First, I want to congratulate all for your entries. I must say that was very hard to decide upon my votes. However....
ReplyDelete3point: a.j.unknow - Hyperboloid Observation Tower / for concept and details (I like the branding of the stairs :)
2 points: Sketchmaster Toth - Gamma Garden / looks like a simplistic architecture, but once downloaded I found a great structure on the inside
1 point: Henkie Tank - Tower Blocks / very, very nice and good modeling
Unfortunately that's all the allowed votes, but I want to mention some other great models like:
Medieval Europe-Watchtower, JediCharles, Ryksuga-Observation Tower, or ankusk-NASHIRO
Wow, there were some OUTSTANDING models here. Just some amazing detail in these things, especially the stairs that were included in some of these things. Spiral Stairs rule.
ReplyDelete3points - Hyperboloid Observation Tower by a.j.unkown. Congrats a.j. have you won 20 of these things yet :-)?
2points - Tower Blocks - Henkie Tenk. The concept was great, as were the details and the scenes
1point - GammaGarden - Sketchmaster Toth. Why didn't I come up with this?! Flippin' Brilliant! The interior was great.
I'm with DalexD on this one, we need Honorable Mentions:
Medieval Europe - Watchtower
ankusk - NASHIRO
Henkie Tenk - Observation Tower Globe
JediCharles - Unable to be entered cause that is wrong
