3D Challenge #010 - Three wheeled car

Note: Please read the guidelines for participating in the challenge. The purpose of the challenge is to have fun and bring SketchUp users together and help each other learn and get better at using our favorite 3d modeling program. We will remove comments that are objectionable or offensive.

This week's challenge:

Three wheeled car

Some of you may remember the little red tricycle on which you learned how to ride a bike. This week we are going to model the grown-up version of that little red bike, a three wheeled car. As usual you are free to create your own design, or to recreate an existing three wheeled car. The only rule is that your car has to have three wheels, not more not less. An interior design is allowed but not required, as the exterior might be time consuming on it's own. We are looking forward to see your vision on a three wheeled car...

Good luck all!

  4. cosedimarco, I couldn't get the animation information to go through on the replay. So I found a e-mail that I though might work. Let me know if you get the information.

  5. @flagfreak,

I asked the same question to the other members of the admin team but havn't had a response of them yet. Normally we would accept small deviations from the original challenge subject to encourage creativity. In this case my personal opinion is that a bike would differentiate to much from the challenge subject, as it clearly states it has to be a car with three wheels. I'll wait for the response of the other team members for a final decision, but for now you may assume only cars or car-like will be accepted.

  6. Ok, the final decision is that only three wheeled cars will be allowed within the usual margins. Tricycles won't be allowed as a submission to the challenges. They deviate to much from the challenge subject which has been voted for in the poll.

I agree with J@man and staff decision to not allow tricycle. I only posted it 'cause I liked it and it could be the ancestors of cars. :-)

  11. Hello Chris Bence

You can have as many models as you like in the challenge. The only chance you take is your votes can get split between all your models. If you want to post several, but only want one on the voting poll, Please note it in the blog.

    Bluesdog
    Bob

PS: I add many joke type models (not for votes), but stretching the boundaries of the challenge guidelines will be taken under the consideration of the Mod team as to weather they are allowed in the voting poll.

  14. Howdy All, This entry is not for judging. It has been inspired by critics. Because we should all be inspired by them. I hope you get as much fun out of this as I did doing it.

  15. Hey Don - I hope my Oscar Meyer weiner comment didn't make you mad! I was one of the two people who said that... Didn't intend to be mean, but that was the first thing that came to mind. :)

And to Oz the Wiz, I knew someone else was going to have that same idea! I posted that just before going out for the night on Friday because I was sure someone else would beat me to it if I waited. haha, sorry!

And I have a question: I used Meduzas Caprice in that model (I gave him credit for it), and he commented on it very quickly. So I'm wondering, when you use someone elses model, does it notify them in some way? I just cant figure out how he saw it so quickly!

  16. Chris, No Worries. I got a great laugh out of the Oscar Meyer thing. What ever happens don't stop the humor. I was trying to funny in return.

  17. Don, good to hear! I just wanted to be sure, sometimes my sarcasm gets me in trouble.

And I answered my own question about Meduza's model...

    Great model as usual
It reminds me the style of a James Bond's car from a movie of the seventies.

  23. Hi All,
    Phew...just made the deadline!
Here's my entry for 3d challenge 010. It's yellow and mellow, fast and furious. No worries about prices at the pump though because this baby runs on clean, free flowing Googlejuice.

    cheers,

  24. Hi Dave,

The model looks quite nice on the image but I can't review it in sketchup. The only options at the warehouse are for downloading to google earth and collada, not for Sketchup. Is it possible to upload the model again to the warehouse without the google earth information? I hope that will solve the absence of the sketchup download option. Looking forward to see your model in sketchup...
