3D Challenge #043 - Tank
Note: Please read the guidelines for participating in the challenge. The purpose of the challenge is to have fun and bring SketchUp users together and help each other learn and get better at using our favorite 3d modeling program. We will remove comments that are objectionable or offensive.
This week's challenge:
Tank
The task at hand this week is to model a tank of your choice. Some of the more famous tanks may be that of the M4 Sherman, or the Tiger I and II. Your tank can be from any era (World War I, World War II, Modern...etc.), or completely by imagination. Remember, this is a fun modeling challenge, not a which tank performs better challenge. Some may wish to use a picture template for modeling their tank, but try to keep textures to a minimum.
Let's see some more great models!

ReplyDeleteFrom this challenge and in the future, there will no obligation for a blog entry anymore. It is still allowed to post a link to your model or additional images, but it is not required anymore to submit a model to the challenges. The 3D Warehouse tag is still required though and should be added when uploading a model to the Warehouse.

Take it easy! ;)
It was clear what the result of the poll will be, that's why I started working on my sherman a few days before.

ReplyDeletehey btm if you are able to read this ive had a question for years to be answered. how do you make the uploaded picture bigger than 400x204 or somethin
ReplyDeletethx
mr.jumpman v.2
Hello BTM
ReplyDeleteThe url is http://sketchup.google.com/3dwarehouse/details?mid=8fde720eed6e028a59b7fcb58d84ea65
You are not getting the complete URL when you copy it. If you are using the link at the bottom of the warehouse page, it is 2 lines long. It can also be copied directly from the address bar.
And the link would look like this

ReplyDeleteMy model
Another tank of mine
ReplyDeleteI'm heartbroken - i created a beautiful tank for my first challenge and i cannot get it up to google warehouse - i've got a google account that works and my cookies are turned on and it just won't happen! I tried even uploading from inside the warehouse when signing into google from outside sketch-up, but it won't recognize the *kmz export for some reason. And sharing it from inside sketch-up keeps demanding cookies on, which they already are. I'm not going to figure it out by the end of the day, and i've been trying to post it since Sunday. Has anyone got advice before i spend a bunch of hours on the next one?
ReplyDeleteYou should upload it from sketchup. And file type should be *.skp.
ReplyDeleteTry too:
- not geo-reference the model.
- Copy and paste the model (only the model) in a new drawing and then upload it.
If you're not able to upload it, at last, send me the file. I will upload it for you.

ReplyDeleteAnd here the Sdkfz 251

ReplyDeleteSo, Final Version ... I hope so .. after a lot of Errors in the 3d warehouse -.-
Hetzer (38t)
ReplyDeleteAnd the last one ;)
Hey, Why are my sdkfz 251 and the Tiger 1 together in one point in the Challlenge ?
ReplyDeletecould somebody change this ?
Sorry my mistake.
ReplyDeleteDue to Blog poll system I can't change the existing so I've had a new extra poll for your "Tank1" model.
And the existing is valid for the "sdkfz 251" model.
Marco
Hm .. okay but ....
ReplyDeletenobody will see it there -.-
