  1. General Notes:
There will no obligation for a blog entry anymore. It is still allowed to post a link to your model or additional images, but it is not required anymore to submit a model to the challenges. The 3D Warehouse tag is still required though and should be added when uploading a model to the Warehouse.

You can use the hyperlink code creator on the frontpage of the blog to create the code for a hyperlink in your message. Copy this code and paste it in the comment box on the place where your want the hyperlink to be.

Challenge suggestions are welcome to be placed on the blog. Items will be noted and compiled on the moderator’s list. At that point, the initial comment for the suggestion may be deleted so as to maintain a streamline challenge thread for use of posting entries for the challenge and comments to models. Challenge suggestions have always been welcomed and taken under consideration.

Please refrain from using background images in your models as it is the model itself that is being judged.

You'll notice a new link on the main page that directs you to the First Place Certificate area to which winners are able to print a certificate with a picture of their model detailing their excellence. You can access the page here or through the main page of the blog.

    Good luck with the challenge!

  2. For someone who really isn't into sports, this is a challenge lol. I suppose I will have to do some research, but I do have an idea for a future challenge, although I am a little biased living in Vegas and all, but how about a casino.

Your model was uploaded one day before challenge started, so it's not valid.

  8. Very cool challenge, nicely picked mods! I've decided what i'm going to model but I only have about 30 free minutes per day to model it! Hope I can do it in time.

Also, I'm curious to learn about the people behind the models... Like, how old is everyone and where is everyone from? I'm 24, you know my name already (should be obvious), and I'm from Portland Oregon in the US, but I'm living in Abu Dhabi. Just curious if anyone wants to share, even the mods too!

  13. Hello all. Chris, we're glad you liked this week's cjallenge, and I'm sure we'll see a lot of great models; as is usual. I also applaud your idea to put a little background about the people behind the nicks and the models.
My name is Oscar Zamora, 40, born and bred in Costa Rica, and I've been a mod of this (as well as the previous, Sketchup officialy hosted) SU Challenge forum for a long while now. I'm a fervent SU fan, but not a very consistent modeler since I use the software exclusively for fun. A recent promotion and the arrival of my firstborn have prevented me from more active participation recently (although I always try to, at least, keep a close watch).

  16. I have an idea for a competition..

I was thinking it would be really really helpful to have a competiton where people make tutorials for using sketchup.

The tutorials on the sketchup site are for using the features of sketchup but not so much for modeling things. I still don't understand how many things that are unusually shaped are modelled especially rounded irregularly shaped objects.

Your model can't be added to the challenge 'cause it contains pre-made models.

Please correct it and read the guidelines.

I think there is only one realy great arena, wich is the Colloseum in Rome! If i had known that this challenge was coming up, i would have waited with posting it! But, fortunately, my model-making-friend Crazy Eyes made a nice one! I recommend voting for him!
Here's a link how i made MY Colloseum-model! It would be nice if you left a rating!

  24. My name is Logan, and I am from Nova Scotia, Canada. To be honest, I am not part of SketchUp anonymous, I am however, a moderator of this blog. As much as I like SketchUp, I never seem to find time to model. So I put my time into the blog.
Good luck to all in the current and future challenges.

  34. I don't mean to cause trouble, but, PushPull's entry should have been disqualified for using headphones found in the 3D Warehouse. He even gave credit to D Johansson in his description. Heres what he used: http://sketchup.google.com/3dwarehouse/details?mid=6a1976204076c1269606fc0a3fad8cbf

We are not allowed to use existing components. I know this is for fun and there is no prize, but why have rules if they're not enforced?

PushPull, you probably weren't aware of this rule and I'm not upset with you. Just try to follow the rules next time.

    ReplyDelete
  35. @ All
I spend a lot of time in watching and checking submitted models but I didn't notice that Push Pull was using pre-made components. So is my fault if it was inserted in the voting poll.
At the moment we are discussing what could we do to repair the situation.

For the next challenge, if you like, please help us to keep challenge fair.

    @ PushPull
Please read carefully the Guidelines of thew challenge
