SketchUp 3D Challenge #141 - Hydrofoils

Sunday, 8 April 2012 - Wednesday, 18 April 2012

View Entry Models | Status: Finished

This time around you will be tasked with modeling hydrofoils; more specifically the synecdoche definition of a boat that uses hydrofoil technology. (I can believe I actually used synecdoche in a sentence!)  Big or small they can be fun to ride so shouldn't it also be fun to model one? Just be sure not to confuse them with hydroplanes because those are completely different.

Thanks to Sketchmaster Toth's suggestion for this topic. (Oh, and if you actually meant hydroplanes, don't worry, we'll get to that topic eventually.)

  1. Hydrofoils, yes I meant them. Oh, and if you will use the topic hydroplanes, expand it with ekranoplanes. (they are between seaplanes and hydroplanes)
    thanks Jedi

  6. Hey Charles,

I think it's about time I do one of these challenges and put my Sketchup skills to the test!

  7. I almost gave up when I saw a.j.unknow model, I started a similar model ...

As it was already well advanced, I finished it anyway. After all it is a challenge ...

  12. 3 Points:USS Gemini (PHM-6) by Crazy Eyes, great details! Nice work

2 Points:The Blue Shadow by DALEXD, nice modelling and a good concept!

1 Point: AT-X9 300 by ankush, I like the model of the ship, but it could use some improvement in scaling....the chairs and the stairs don't really have the right scaling.
